Blackpool Frontrunners Newsletter
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the good weather. If anyone has anything of interest they would like included in our Newsletter – please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Club runs continue every Sunday at 10am, starting at the Clock Tower in Stanley Park. Changing the start time to earlier has been mentioned by a few people – I would be interested in your opinion – keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook group and Instagram for a poll towards the end of the month.
Happy Pride Month
June is Pride Month – sadly there will be few Pride Celebrations and Protests this year. That said, Blackpool Pride (https://prideblackpool.co.uk/) looks set to host a Winter Pride this year – keep your eyes open for further details.
Pride Celebrations or not, it is incredibly important to remember why we celebrate pride – there are a number of great articles out there, here are a few to get you started:
Fancy a T-shirt?
We are currently testing potential Club Kit. Why testing? Well, we don’t want to invest in something that is either poor quality or unliked.
The kit is Tangerine and White and features the BFR logo. I would really appreciate your feedback if you have seen it. In terms of purchasing – we are a few months away from offering the kit, and it will likely be sold for around £18 for the T-shirt. All proceeds will go to the running of the club, and accounts will be disclosed yearly.
Newcastle Frontrunners LGBT 5k
One of the most popular LGBTQ+ running events is the Newcastle Frontrunners 5k and festival of running. The great news is that it is going ahead this year and full details can be found on their website at https://www.newcastlefrontrunners.co.uk/lgbt5k-festival-of-running
I have been to many, and it is always a great event, great night out and you get a phenomenal goody bag.
Just a reminder – please don’t come to a club run if you are experiencing symptoms of Covid. Also, we highly recommend using the free testing kits you can get from the NHS (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing/regular-rapid-coronavirus-tests-if-you-do-not-have-symptoms/)
