What is Couch to 5k?

Couch to 5k is a program which takes you from never running before (or not having ran in a long time) to running 5k in as little as 9 weeks.

You don’t need any previous running experience, you can be any shape, size, age or from any background.

The way the program works is by mixing gentle running with walking for around 30 minuites. When you start you walk substantially more than you run, this changes over the 9 weeks until you can run for 30 minutes without stopping. 

What do I need?

You need a positive attitude and suitable clothing. Clothing doesn’t need to be anything fancy – sensible footwear and something you would be comfortable running in.

There are no initial costs – come over and see if it is the right thin for you. If you like what we do, you can join the club and experience the many benefits it entails.

Who, what, where, when?

We meet every Tuesday at 6pm, in Stanley Park. We will meet at the Cocker Clock Tower right in the centre of the park. 

This is a group run, so you will be met by one of our regular runners who will facilitate the timings. They will typically be wearing a Blackpool Frontrunners T-shirt. Please note: this is not a coached session, just a group of like minded runners.

You will be on your feet and moving for 30 minutes. Please make sure you will be fine with this before joining in. If you have any medical conditions, or have not excercised in some time – you may wish to have a chat with a health profesional.
